For several months during 2016 the St. John’s Parish Council was considering various alternatives for the spiritual advancement of our parish community. The efforts resulted in choosing the Relit program. Others were considered, however, it was determined that a more moderate program like Relit would be better at this point, then other programs that would require a large volunteer capability that we are still developing.
Relit will aim at better understand and implementing the “New Evangelization” here at St. John’s. We are often encouraged by priests to “share the faith” that is to “evangelize” however, just how to do that can remain an uncomfortable mystery for many. Participation in the Relit process could very well fix that issue.
Let’s see where this process can take us as a parish in 2017.
